Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.

The comedian

Best-selling young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

A representative for the company said: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the decision was taken subsequent to an review of reports of questionable actions towards women.

The company did not confirm the reasons for its decision, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

He has published in excess of 40 works altogether, including a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
