The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment Wednesday night confirming they are aware of claims of abuse made public in social media posts by a ex-partner of wide receiver Rashee Rice and had been in contact with the NFL.
The organization did not mention Rice by name in their statement and noted they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention Rice directly, shared a set of images on Instagram that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. She did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with the football player, whom the team selected in the second round.
No police reports were available in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Rice missed the initial part of this season following an league-mandated ban for his involvement in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that resulted in several individuals injured. Rice was sentenced 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
Statistically, Rice concluded the season with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Kansas City finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
