The concluding installment of the celebrity version of The Traitors was uploaded in error by overseas broadcasters before its planned UK airing on Thursday, as confirmed a network statement.

It is understood that the final was viewed by a few hundred viewers of the online platform Crave in the North American country; they could view it for a couple of hours before it was taken down.

The episode being uploaded was not considered a mistake by the producing network, and a spokesperson for the company asked those who believe they know the outcome of the series to "avoid sharing potential spoilers".

"We urge anyone who believes they have uncovered the outcome of the celebrity edition to hold whatever they believe they know to themselves," the statement said.

"Please avoid posting any spoilers so that the millions of fans who have been closely watching every twist and turn of the show can enjoy the finale this night."

This celebrity version is presently the top-rated TV show of the year, with an mean of 12.6 million viewers across the first four episodes.
