Aircraft Spins Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Frequented Southern California Shoreline

An aircraft hovering above a popular California shoreline unexpectedly commenced twirling wildly, eventually losing altitude and plunging into a line of palm fronds as spectators observed.

Recordings uploaded online capture the aircraft beginning to twirl above the shoreline then descending in the direction of the border of the shore, where it gets stuck amidst palms and a set of stairs near the shoreline route.

Emergency Response Information

Emergency responders stated five individuals were rushed to the hospital including two individuals who were in the chopper and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” following the incident on Saturday.

Three individuals on the road were hurt. Information on their wounds were still under review.

The reason for the accident was not immediately released.
